I am looking for a place in Amsterdam or the Amsterdam area. Ideally, it would be close to my university, the Sandberg Institute in the Amsterdam-Zuid district (that’s my dream), but any location would be considered for a permanent or temporary living arrangement in the Amsterdam area.

My name is Kristaps Šulcs, and this year I was accepted into the Sandberg Institute’s Master’s programme in the Immediate Spaces department. Finding a place in Amsterdam is a serious business, which is why I have started looking for ways to connect with communities of people who share similar life goals and experiences. I am a community-oriented and collaborative person. Recently, I have been working as a curator and “helping hand” in a community garden, as well as a designer for an independent new-wave literature magazine. I come from Latvia, where I work professionally with youth as a design teacher. In my practice, I have developed a deep interest in people’s relationships with space. Unfortunately, this field of study—critical spatial practices—isn’t available in Latvia, so moving to Amsterdam is a crucial step for my learning and professional growth.
I also grew up in the countryside, where I developed a lot of practical knowledge about fixing, renovating, or building things, while at the same time respecting nature and other species.
I would be happy to find a community, or simply welcoming people, with whom I can share my knowledge and we can help each other.
